The Young Moon

The Young Moon is one of a series of ‘Sun and Moon’ images inspired by the fluid and changeable nature of the celestial bodies. For the plate that was used to make this print, varnish was poured straight out of the can onto the surface. Then, carborundum powder was immediately sprinkled onto the liquid before using a straw to blow the mixture into interesting shapes. Once dried, the plate was inked with a variety of colours before printing, resulting in a truly unique print.
