This print is part of a mini-series of abstract images which were created by singeing or burning a variety of adhesive tapes stuck to the printing plate. The effect in the prints is similar, akin to the effect of burning wood to leave the charcoal behind. The addition of seams of metallic chine collé to the prints serve to counter this sense of a diminution in value – giving the composition back its weight in gold.
