This was one of a series of 10 cm plates covered with thick coatings of acrylic gels. Whilst the gels were still wet, I made various marks in the surface using plastic tools, carving out peaks and troughs in the soft gel. This particular plate and print reminded me of excavated fossils, or perhaps the shape of an ancient insect.
