I don’t make many figurative images, so the series of imagined landscapes was an interesting departure. The idea of combining several plates that fit together like a jigsaw puzzle offers many advantages to the printmaker. These include the fact that each individual plate can be made a different materials and inked separately so that I could maintain control over just much or how little I wanted the colours and textures to merge. In the end, the range of materials used from textured wallpaper to acrylic gels created an interesting landscape full of light and shade.
