The White Box Gallery on Blackheath in London, is one of the biggest ‘small’ galleries I have seen anywhere. The Small in floor space it makes up for this by having a very space-efficient hanging system, which allows for two rows of framed items per wall, plus plinths and other spaces. The Gallery is on a less populated corner of the Heath but nevertheless drew a significant number of passers-by. As always, I took along examples of printing plates and materials from which they were made. These connections between materials and finished works often prompted interesting conversations with visitors which led to significant numbers of sales.
