    ’10’: A Retrospective

    10: A Retrospective

Whilst teaching a series of Printmaking workshops in Horncastle, Lincolnshire around a couple of years before, I became good friends with one of the attendees, Christine Plummer. She had mentioned plans to create a Gallery and Art Centre in Wickenby, but at the time I had no idea of the scale of her plans. A few months later, I visited the site and the gallery had already been built, complete with professional lighting and hanging system. Work was underway upstairs to install accommodation for visitors wishing to stay and attend classes and workshops. Now, in April 2026, the Gallery has been open for around 18 months and the upstairs accommodation and further workshop spaces are nearly complete. In one of our conversations, I mentioned that I would like to use Gallery space to create an exhibition covering 10+ years of my printmaking practice. Christine was on board with the idea straight away and the show took place in November 2025. The Rickard Gallery feels and looks like a home interior, with the work and the surroundings complementing each other perfectly.

As the title ’10’: A Retrospective suggests, the exhibition featured folded sculptures, poured ink reliefs, traditional collagraph prints, framed printing plates and metallic reliefs.
