The exhibition’s title alluded to the central idea behind the show – that materials and processes can shape and alter a piece of work, and that its shape and form can be altered, sometimes until very late in that making process. In the exhibition, flat print became three-dimensional sculpture, old prints found new lives alongside papers covered in faux metal leaf and chine collé elements became art pieces in their own right.
This large-scale show was effectively an overview of the first seven years of my printmaking practice – a chance to show some of my ‘Flexures’, framed reliefs and prints inspired by my 2017 visit to Iceland.
