I have been a member of the Printmakers Council for many years. Back in 2016, members were asked to submit prints for a forthcoming exhibition marking the Centenary of the Irish revolution, to be held at Farmleigh Gallery in Dublin. My submission, Moment, was inspired by the thought of that particular moment in time at the exact point which independence was declared – a spark or explosion of dynamism at the birth of a nation. I travelled to Dublin to attend the opening evening reception.
