Although it was officially an evening for the press, many people from arts organisations and the corporate world were there. It was nice not knowing where my piece was situated, so the anticipation was there as I wandered around, taking in the different stands created by galleries for their artist stables, as well as individual entrants, like myself. The work was of a very high standard, with a wide range of printmaking methods represented, including screen printing, etching, linocut, collagraph and monographs.<\/p>\n<p><i><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-58717\" src=\"http:\/\/sinclairashman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/zIJP7qchRFiFjcnNfUozVg-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"630\" \/><\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><i><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-58716\" src=\"http:\/\/sinclairashman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/4vFxI6gwQ6LQlMtq1WXJg-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"630\" \/><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-58709\" src=\"http:\/\/sinclairashman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/fyrzVtSVerYtJ7KHLTng-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"630\" \/><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>My print, &#8216;Island II&#8217;, in situ<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-58682\" src=\"http:\/\/sinclairashman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Sinclair_Ashman_Island_II_3Mb--1024x1020.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"837\" \/><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-58718\" src=\"http:\/\/sinclairashman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/axTDE09jQmwrqKnJhUYPw-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>&#8216;Mutations&#8217;, a group of etchings by Emily Crookshank<\/i><\/p>\n<p>It was also good to see printmakers demonstrating their screen printing and etching techniques live, including Emily Crookshank, WCPFs Printmaker in Residence at this year&#8217;s fair, who I\u00a0managed to catch up for a chat. Elsewhere, models, wearing printed fabrics created by artist-printmakers were moving around the vast space, whilst upstairs featured a very large standing piece (below) and more of Emily&#8217;s work.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-58713\" src=\"http:\/\/sinclairashman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/WB1nIkTPi4HjBDTTStww-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-58714\" src=\"http:\/\/sinclairashman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/ukl2HineTwysO3Gu7z0dIQ-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-58712\" src=\"http:\/\/sinclairashman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/8aKaNsC6R2qeyyYOeMbDrA-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For me, the best aspect of the fair was the genuine levels of interest there were from visitors. In line with what I have experienced at other events of this kind, they were curious, engaged and willing to ask questions, which I always love to answer.
