Last week, I was able to devote a whole day to the task.<\/p>\n<p>I chose to begin with what I thought would be a couple of very interesting plates, made using glasspaper. Although well sealed with many layers of varnish, ink still managed to bleed around and under the cut edges. Ordinarily, I would show\u00a0them here, but they were just too embarrassing! I was\u00a0<\/em><i>particularly pleased with the way that the grain from the birch\u00a0plywood plate was reproduced.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sinclairashman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_2561.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3262\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3262\" src=\"http:\/\/sinclairashman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_2561-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Six by Six by Eleven \u2013 print detail\" width=\"940\" height=\"705\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Print detail<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t all plain sailing though. A couple of the plates, made using a plasticised edging material, were initially over-inked, resulting in this&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sinclairashman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_2546.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3254\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3254\" src=\"http:\/\/sinclairashman.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_2546-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Six by Six by Eleven \u2013 the prints: ink bleed on first print\" width=\"940\" height=\"705\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, I could see the potential in the vein-like tracery details of the fabric, so I re-inked.
