    Print: Viscosity Inking

    Viscosity Inking

This series of prints were the direct result of experiments that were inspired by attending a one day course by Emily Harvey, the Curious Printmaker, at the Ropewalk arts centre, Barton upon Humber, the place where I started Printmaking back in 2013-14. The inking technique involves in a printing plate in the normal way. However, just before printing, a thinner (less viscose) contrasting colour is rolled over the plate surface. The two inks at different viscosities do not mix, thereby producing vibrant colour effects.
